The tension between Janelle Brown and Kody Brown has reached a boiling point on Sister Wives.
In E! News' exclusive sneak peek of the TLC series' upcoming episode, Janelle addresses Kody's strained relationship with their six kids—particularly with sons Garrison, 24, and Gabe, 21, who he attempted to kick out of the house during the COVID-19 pandemic for going against some of the family rules he had put in place.
In a confessional, Janelle takes issue with how "Kody feels like it's my responsibility to facilitate this relationship between him and my children" despite the fact that "he is a parent as much as I am."
But when the 54-year-old sits down with her now-ex to have a discussion about their parenting dynamic, words get heated and she eventually calls out Kody, 54, for "always flipping it back on me."
"That because it belongs on you, Janelle," Kody retorts, prompting her to question: "Why does it belong on me?"
Kody then argues that Janelle "didn't support" the COVID-19 rules he implemented in the home and, instead, sided with the kids. "All you have to do is support what I'm doing," he said. "Do you understand that parents are supposed to make a united front?"
However, Janelle doesn't agree that she should be put in a situation where she has to choose between Kody and their children. "You keep acting like this is my fault," she tells Kody. "You are gaslighting me."
Janelle continues, "This 'I feel so pressured' bulls--t? This is you saying, 'I don't wanna do it but I'm gonna make it your fault.'"
And when Kody tells Janelle to "stop throwing me under the bus," the mom of six hits back with the same request. "I did what I was supposed to do, but it wasn't ever good enough for you," she tells him. "You wanted me to kick the boys out. You act like this is not your fault."
Janelle goes on to note that she "agreed to the CDC rules" when it came to the pandemic, but accuses Kody of enforcing more arbitrary rules on the family that ultimately drove a wedge between him and their kids.
She adds, "I wasn't going to turn my boys out in the middle of a pandemic."
In addition to Garrison and Gabe, the reality stars share kids Logan, 29, Madison, 27, Hunter, 26, and Savanah, 18. (In total, Kody is dad to 18 children with Janelle and her "sister wives" Christine Brown, Meri Brown and Robyn Brown.)
Christine announced her breakup with Kody in 2021 following more than two decades together. Nearly a year later, Janelle and Meri both confirmed they had called it quits with the Brown patriarch—leaving him with Robyn, who he legally married in 2014 while being in "spiritual unions" with the rest of the women.
So, how does Robyn feel about the recent shake-ups in their plural family? As she tearfully noted in the season 18 trailer of Sister Wives earlier this year, "I wanted to sit on a porch with my sister wives with our kids and our grandkids."
New episodes of Sister Wives drop every Sunday on TLC.
